REGULATION

ADMISSION TO THE VINCERÒ COMPETITION

 Singers of all nationalities are invited to participate in the competition.

 AGE LIMIT

Born between 1985 and 2003.

 REGISTRATION

 Upon registration, candidates must complete the form in its entirety, indicate the two arias they intend to send via video for the qualifications, select the three arias to be performed in the semifinals (if admitted) from the list of mandatory arias and indicate the city preferred to participate in the semifinals (see the website page "city and dates"). 

 Registration deadline Online applications for the competition must be received within 12 a.m. (24.00) on August 22nd, 2021 (Central European time -CET).

 Registration confirmation The registration will be valid only when the Competition's General Management has confirmed by e-mail that the candidate has been accepted.

 Access for singers After the registration, the candidates will have a personal online access (Reserved Area) to modify, for example, their arias or the city selected for the semifinals, or to correct some data or contacts. Changes can be made up to no later than 48 hours before the date selected for the semifinal.

 Terms and conditions - Upon registration, the candidate accepts all the terms and conditions of participation in the competition.  

  CHOICE OF OPERA ARIAS

 Every singer will have to prepare five opera arias in total. Two free choice opera arias sent via video to access the qualifications, and three opera arias selected from the mandatory list to access the semifinals (see below).

All five arias must be communicated during the registration, by filling in the form.

 All the arias will be performed in the original key and language and they have to be by at least 3 different composers. It is mandatory to present 2 arias in Italian,among the five selected.

All arias must be performed by heart and without interruption in all three phases of the competition (Qualifications, Semifinals and Final).

 Mandatory arias - During registration, you can indicate the three arias to be performed in case of admission to the semifinals.

The three arias can be chosen by consulting the following lists divided by type of voice:

 STAGES OF THE COMPETITION

The competition is divided into three phases: Qualifications, Semifinals and Final.

 JURY

 For every stage of the competition there will be different juries:

In the qualifications the jury will be composed of a commission of international opera professionals selected by Vincerò .

In the semifinalsthe jury will be composed of a commission made up partly by the aforementioned professionals from and partly by professionals from the country hosting the semifinals.

Furthermore, for the final in Naples, a double jury is foreseen: a jury of excellence composed by 12 artistic directors and superintendents of international theaters and a jury composed of 6 music critics, represented by prestigious newspapers and specialized magazines.

The judgment of all commissions and juries will be unquestionable.

 QUALIFICATIONS

 Access to Qualifications - singers from all over the world will be able to access qualifications.

 JURY - Candidates will be evaluated by a qualification committee made up of international opera professionals chosen by Vincerò.  

 Arias for qualifications (video) - The qualifications will take place by sending a video to the Vincerò competition containing two arias of the candidate's choice, by two different authors, accompanied on the piano.

Every aria must be recorded without interruptions, sung by heart in the original key and language.

The qualifying committee will listen to one or both arias at its discretion.

 Sending the video - The video must be sent through WeTransfer or Dropbox to the e-mail info@vincerocompetition.org, oppure caricato direttamente sul sito.

 Video submission deadline - The video recording must be sent no later than 12 a.m. (24.00) on August 22nd, 2021 (Central European time -CET).

 Participation fee for the qualifiers – La quota di iscrizione per la qualificazione è di € 55,00 (VAT included). This fee must be paid after completing the form and registering online.

 Specifying the purpose of the transfer: Name + Surname of the participant and the following Statement “Vincerò Competition 2021 - Registration of Qualification".

Qualifying results - The qualifying commission will decide who will be admitted to the semifinals. The General Management of the competition will notify directly to the participants the admission to the semifinals, by e-mail. 

SEMIFINALS

Access to the semifinals - Only the singers who have passed the qualifying phase will have access to the semifinals.

JURY - Candidates will be evaluated by a commission for the semifinals formed in part by international opera professionals chosen by and in part by professionals from the host country.

 Arias for the semifinals - In the registration, candidates will have to communicate the three arias selected to be performed in the eventual semifinal. The three arias must be selected by consulting the list of mandatory arias for their own type of voice, included in the registration form.

All the arias must be performed by heart, in the original key and language.

The commission for the semifinals will listen to one or two arias among the three selected by the candidate.  

 Possible national limitations - Singers who will not be able to carry out the Semifinals in presence, due to any security restrictions of their country, will still be able to participate in the semifinals, by sending a video to the e-mail info@vincerocompetition.org, attaching the three arias for the semifinals, selected during registration.

Every aria must be captured in the video without interruptions.

 Participation fee in the semifinals – La quota di partecipazione alle Semifinali è di € 100,00 (inclusive di spese bancarie).

The fee can be paid through the website, within 7 days from the communication by the General Management that they have been admitted to the semifinals.

 Winners or finalists of other competitions The participants in the Vincerò competition, who have won or reached the final at the international singing competitions in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions: Operalia, Belvedere Competition, Viñas Competition, BBC Cardiff International Competition, International Competition Neue Stimme, will have direct access to the semifinals, skipping the qualifications, producing an official document that demonstrates the victory or access to the final in the aforementioned competitions. This document must be sent, during application, to the e-mail: info@vincerocompetition.org.  

 Participation fee in the semifinals for winners or finalists of other competitions The fee to be paid will be € 100.00 (VAT included). The payment can be made by bank transfer (see above IBAN and payment details) or via Paypal Qrcode.

 Results of the semifinals - The commission for the semifinals will decide in an unquestionable manner who can be admitted to the final. The General Management of the competition will notify directly to the participants, communicating that they have been admitted to the final by e-mail. 

The communication will be sent, based on the city selected by the candidate to attend the semifinal, within 30 days before the semifinal or after 15 days (about those countries where the semi finals will be held in September or October)

Final

 Access to the Final in Naples Only the singers who have passed the semifinals will have the right to access the Final who be held in Naples on October 29/30/31st, 2021.   

 JURY - In the final there will be a double jury: a jury of excellence composed by 12 artistic directors and superintendents of international opera houses and a jury composed by 6 music critics, representatives of prestigious newspapers and specialized magazines.

 Arias for the Final - The jury of the opera houses will ask the candidate to perform one or two arias, selected from the 5 presented during the previous stages of the competition.   

 During the three days of the final, the jury will reserve the right to be able to listen to the same candidate several times.

Final participation fee -The participation in the final is free.

 Possible national limitations - Singers who will not be able to carry out the Semifinals in presence, due to any security restrictions of their country, will still be able to participate in the semifinals.

 The jury of the final in Naples will listen to one or more arias, selected from the five previously sent via video.

 Final concert - Unless specific restrictions imposed, due to health problems, the winners of the Vincerò competition will perform in the final concert, in the presence of an audience and accompanied by an orchestra.

 The concert will be recorded entirely in live streaming and possibly broadcasted by radio or TV.

 JURY AND AWARDS

 The judgment of the selection committee (Qualification and Semifinals) and of the jury for the final is unquestionable..

 The jury of the final reserves the right to refrain from awarding a prize entirely or to divide it among several winners.

 The jury reserves the right to be able to stop the performance of an aria at any time, to request that only extracts of the arias will be performed or asking to listen to arias, that have already been performed, again.

 The General Management can’t guarantee that all stages of the competition will take place before the entire and complete jury.

  CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

 All participants who have reached the semifinal and final will receive a certificate of participation in the Vincerò competition, first edition 2021, upon specific request. , prima edizione 2021

 MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT

 Pianist accompanier Vincerò will make an official pianist accompanier available to all participants free of charge, who will accompany the singers in the semifinals and in the days of the final, on 29 and 30 October 2021.

 However, candidates may be accompanied by their trusted pianist, at their own expense.

 Piano Tuning - All pianos will be tuned to 442 Hz.

SCORES FOR VOICE AND PIANO

 In the semifinals and in the final, the participants must bring with them the singing and piano score of every aria for the pianist accompanier. The competition doesn’t provide musical material.

 VOICE WARMING -UP

 It will not be possible to make warm-up vocalizations in the venues designated for the semifinals.

 PUBLIC

 In the absence of specific health restrictions, the final will take place in the presence of the public, as it will be possible to have the presence of the public even during the semifinals.

 VIDEO RECORDING AND MEDIA

 The General Management reserves the right to allow radio and television broadcasters to record and to broadcast the semifinals and the final entirely or in extracts. The same goes for film, audio and video recordings (live streaming) in all known and future media.ri.

At the time of registration, by accepting the conditions of the regulation, the candidate automatically waives fees and rights on such filming.

DRESS CODE

 For the semifinals and the final, outfits respectful of an international audience are recommended.

 For the final concert, ladies are advised to wear an evening dress and gentlemen an elegant suit or tuxedo or tailcoat.

 Any traditional dress will be welcome and respected.

 SENSITIVE DATA & PRIVACY

 During the online registration, candidates accept terms and conditions for privacy and data protection (see  privacy policy in the form).

 The candidates therefore accept that their data including: name, date of birth, nationality, educational qualifications, artistic curriculum, are made available to the selection committee and to the jury for the final.

 Transmission of data to third parties - The participants will consent to the disclosure of their data to agencies, opera houses, concert halls, musical institutions, festivals, etc.

These data will be delivered only for professional purposes.

 In case of lack of consent, participants will have the right to prohibit the disclosure of data at any time, communicating this choice by e-mail to info@vincerocompetition.org

ENTRY VISA  

 Any entry or expatriation visas must be requested independently by the semi-finalists and finalists who will also have to bear the costs of their issuing.

 At the request of the, and only after registration, Vincerò will be able to issue a certificate of participation in the competition to facilitate the issuance of the visa.

COLLABORATIONS AND SPONSORS

  Vincerò is supported by sponsors and individuals. The participants in the competition who at registration already have contracts or agreements with sponsors, agencies, record companies, etc., are requested to communicate this information immediately upon registration, reporting it in the "CV in short form".

 Similarly, if during the competition stages a participant receives sponsorship proposals such as those listed above, he is invited to promptly notify the organization of Vincerò by sending an email to  info@vincerocompetition.org.

DISPUTES

 The Court of jurisdiction over any legal disputes is the Court of Rome.

ENGLISH VERSION

 The English version published on the official website of the competition conforms to the original in Italian.

 RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL   

 The participants in the Vincerò World Opera Singing Competition have the right to withdraw from participation in the qualification or semifinal auditions within 7 days from the day of payment of the registration fees, without giving any reasons.

 To exercise the right of withdrawal, it is necessary to fill out the withdrawal form and send it to the competition management at the e-mail:  info@vincerocompetition.org

Refund In case of withdrawal from participation Vincerò will refund the total amount paid for the competition phases not yet completed.

 NATURAL HAZARD

 If during the entire course of the competition, events such as wars, epidemics, pandemics and any other cause recognized as force major occur, the General Management of the Competition reserves the right to change the competition dates, postponing them to the end of the emergency.
